Specialty Courts and the Criminal Justice System

Rural Nevada Counseling understands that there can be negative consequences that arise from active addiction. Some of these consequences can involve mandated treatment through the criminal justice system. Rural Nevada Counseling has various programs which help our clients meet and maintain the various compliance requirements of Nevada’s specialty courts while offering highly specialized approaches specific to your needs.

If you are seeking help for your substance misuse related issues and are involved with the Nevada Specialty Courts (Drug, DUI, MAT, or Mental Health), Department of Alternative Sentencing, Division of Parole or Probation, Juvenile or Adult Justice Courts, or District Courts, please feel free to contact us so that we can get you involved in treatment and allow us to assist you in moving one step closer towards your new way of life.

Rural Nevada Counseling works with all of Nevada’s Specialty Courts. All criminal justice system mandated clients randomly and regularly undergo drug screens and/or breathalyzer analysis through a color-coded system. RNC is certified through the State of Nevada to provide testing onsite. Additionally, we are contracted with a national lab for test confirmations and medication compliance for those who are engaged in mental health treatment. We also offer; Level 1 Outpatient and Level 2.1 Intensive Outpatient Services. We currently are contracted with the Western Regional Specialty Court program and service all of Lyon and Pershing Counties.

DUI Classes

Rural Nevada Counseling is also a DMV state-approved and licensed Level 1 DUI school provider. There are different levels of alcohol education and treatment programs with varying degrees for length of treatment and criteria, depending on the state. Nevada, for example, allows DUI first-offenders to undergo “Level I” alcohol education courses typically consisting of 8 hours (or two days) of education about the effects of alcohol. If you find that you need to fulfill the requirements of a Level 1 DUI school, please consider signing up for one of our upcoming classes which can be viewed for your convenience on our events page. Once you have located a class that fits into your schedule, simply fill out the form located below and one of our staff members will contact you to finish the process.

Please be advised that a minimum of 3 participants are required to conduct DUI school. Rescheduling can occur if the minimum amount of people has not signed up and prepaid for class before the scheduled date. The “3 people or more” is determined no later than the Wednesday prior to any scheduled DUI school. If rescheduling occurs, all participants who have paid will be carried over to the next available class. RNC will contact you several days before the class is to occur if cancellation is necessary.

The cost of DUI school is $150 which is to be paid prior to the day of DUI school. There are no refunds if client misses their DUI school. However, there is a $75 discounted re-enrollment fee for the next available class. Please contact our office directly if this accommodation is applicable to you.
